Maypole Adventure

Weaving Ribbons around a Maypole!
After a long winter’s nap it’s time to wake up the earth and celebrate springtime in April and May and Midsummer in June by dancing around a beautifully decorated authentic, Maypole. Students will learn fun, easy dances as we wrap and weave ribbons ‘round the maypole while dancing to festive music from England, Germany, and Scandinavia! Learn fun facts and history of the Maypole and how each culture celebrates these festivals in their region. About 12-24 dancers is a good number to make this event look spectacular. Have a small group? Consider joining with another class or group to get all the ribbons moving! Boys and Girls welcome and colorful costumes, props, and instruments provided!! Skal vi danse?!
