Take a journey through America and learn how other cultures have influenced our history through dance, music, and folklore. It is important to preserve and pass down our rich American Heritage traditions. Back in Early America, people came together to celebrate holidays, harvest time, and special events. Dancing with friends and family was very much a part of those celebrations. Let’s keep our heritage alive! Let’s go, do-si-do!

Colonial Times:
Dances from 18th Century America and Revolutionary Period.
Costumes Include: Girls - Mop Caps, Skirts; Boys - Vests, Tri-Corner Hats.
Pioneer Days:
Dances and Play Party Games from the Hills of Appalachia to the American Frontier. Dancing was very important to the Pioneers of the West, and were held in every possible location and often lasted for hours and hours, and into the next day! Because Pioneers came from every part of the world, the dances and music reflected that diversity. Pioneer Dances are very fun and lively and make a great festival for your school or group!
Costumes Include: Girls - Bonnets, Aprons; Boys - Vests, Hats, and Bandanas.
Medieval & Renaissance Adventure
(Historical Dances of Europe)
Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all Lords and Ladies, Peasants, and Jesters wishing to dance and make merry! In this historical dance adventure, we’ll learn several Medieval and Renaissance dances while donning traditional dresses and tunics of the middle ages. Students will enjoy reveling to the fascinating ancient music (of pipes, harps, and the Hurdy Gurdy) while learning customs and traditions of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Add the Maypole and a Medieval Faire for a spectacular, and fun experience! Dancing ‘tis most splendid! Knights and Princesses of all ages are welcome to experience this festive adventure!
